Science Course Descriptions:
All grade level science classes use the California Science Content Standards (http://www.cde.ca.gov/be/st/ss/documents/sciencestnd.pdf). Over the next two years we will be transitioning to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) (http://www.cde.ca.gov/pd/ca/sc/ngssstandards.asp).
Learning strategies/practices include, but are not limited to, research, experimentation, engineering, labs, projects, presentations, web quests, simulations, virtual and concrete dissections, interviews, team collaboration, visual thinking strategies, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) strategies (including interactive notebooks) (http://www.avid.org/what-is-avid.ashx), PowerPoint Assignments, Edmodo (online) assignments.
